Well yet another blog is created. This is more for us than our (possible) readers. We would like to track the history and future of our home on the web.
Went to County Records a few weeks ago and researched our property. Many very helpful people in there (once they realized that I was an amateur). Went back far enough to realize that people in the 1800s had some very stylish handwriting but difficult to read. Difficult to tell when the house was built but one thing was sure, it was owned by a company called Porter-Milton Ice Company for a time. Local legend states that many of the workers for the company lived here during the winters to harvest ice.
